The Gem at the Heart of the Peak
Tucked away in the Peak District’s wild rolling
hills lies the Tissington Estate.
Eight generations of the FitzHerbert family have
lived in this beautiful Jacobean Mansion, which
presides over a quintessentially English village,
complete with duck pond and village green.
This is the perfect venue for a fairytale wedding,
garden opera, private party or exclusive corporate
event.
Whatever the occasion, Tissington Hall is a
beautiful backdrop with a timeless atmosphere all of
its own.
Tissington Hall is an intimate and romantic setting
for the most important day of your life. The Hall
is only offered on an exclusive basis and our policy
of only hosting one event per weekend allows you the
luxury of visiting the Hall the day before the
wedding to bring table names and check that
everything is exactly as you wish.
Our licence allows couples to marry in the panelled
Main Hall, East and West Drawing Rooms or outdoor
Terrace Pavilion, just beneath the scented Rose
Gardens.
Celebrate afterwards in the oak panelled opulence of
our dining room or under canvas in our extensive
grounds which include: a private ten-acre arboretum,
lawns, terraces and stunning rose gardens.
With years of experience, our dedicated team will
work around the clock to ensure your special day
runs smoothly.
Summer Weddings
As the warm evening sunshine sets slowly over the
arboretum, the heady scent of roses lingers in the
gardens. The background tinkle of champagne glasses
and the lilting notes from a string quartet create a
magical atmosphere.
Begin your reception in either of the two drawing
rooms in the seventeenth century part of the Hall
and let your guests spill out into the gardens where
we can cater for up to 350 guests with our carefully
designed marquees.
NEW! The Pink Bedroom
Suite is now available to get ready in. We also have
a special Bridal Suite within the village.
Winter Weddings
Roaring log fires and candlelight make Tissington a
cosy oasis of warmth and light on the bleakest of
winter’s days.
Winter weddings tend to be for smaller groups. Up to
24 guests can be accommodated in our private dining
room or up to 64 in the Main Hall.
Your guests will immediately feel at home as they
stroll around the hall and soak up four centuries of
family history.
The Pink Bedroom
Suite is now available to get ready in. We also have
a special Bridal Suite within the village.
Testimonials
Tissington Hall was absolutely the right choice
as our wedding venue; it is stylish, has character,
charm yet is also intimate and welcoming. No other
venue in the Midlands comes close as far as I'm
concerned, it was an easy choice. We felt like film
stars all day. The fact that the rain didn't put a
dampner on the occasion is tantamount to the
beautiful rooms at Tissington, and the wonderful
setting.'
Louise and Dan, 2008.
'Christina and I would like to thank you and the
staff at Tissington Hall for making our Wedding such
a memorable occasion.
The venue for the Wedding ceremony was superb,
hitting the right note of formality and grandeur in
a warm and gloriously sun filled room. Lunch in the
dining room was magical, it was a truly spectacular
setting and the food was superb. Most important of
all though was the help and attention from you and
the staff on the day. Everyone worked very hard and
kept a discreet and careful eye on proceedings.
We’ve had a lot of comments from guests regarding
how well they were looked after on the day by you
and the staff and we really appreciated how much
that made the day go so well.
We’ll always remember our Wedding at Tissington
Hall, and thank you again for giving us a memory to
treasure.'
Christina and Mike, 2008.
'Tissington
Hall proved to be the perfect choice for our
wedding. The service was absolutely first class -
friendly, professional and incredibly helpful. All
requests were willingly accommodated and
arrangements well taken care of, leaving us free to
enjoy our special day. The Hall and its gorgeous
gardens provided a stunning backdrop for our
photographs and our guests are still talking about
what a magical wedding it was. We highly recommend
this beautiful and unique historic hall. Thank you
Sir Richard and team!'
